THIS EXCITING NEW ANNUAL COMPETITION, PROUDLY BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE WORLD DANCE CREW CHAMPIONSHIP. THIS IS A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ACROSS NEW ZEALAND TO SHOWCASE THEIR PASSION AND CREATIVITY THROUGH DANCE. HELD EACH YEAR DURING THE APRIL SCHOOL HOLIDAYS. THE CDCC WILL CELEBRATE AND ELEVATE THE VIBRANT DANCE IN OUR COUNTRY, OFFERING YOUNG DANCERS A PLATFORM TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES AND GROW THEIR SKILLS

PROPS Small, safe, hand-held props are allowed
ELIGIBILITY
CREW MEMBERS MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED AT THE PARTICIPATING SCHOOL WITH ALLOWANCE FOR SCHOOLS TO COMBINE TO COMPETE AT THE EVENT.

Dance styles should be street, club, party, or studio-related. The number of styles performed is up to the crew, with cultural influence and innovation being allowed.
NCEA CREDITS
the cdcc offers high school students around new zealand the chance to gain ncea credits.
CDCC provides an opportunity for high school students across New Zealand to express their creativity and passion for dance. By integrating NCEA credits into the competition, CDCC supports students’ academic and artistic growth, encouraging participation from diverse backgrounds and promoting inclusivity within the dance community. This collaboration will strengthen the connection between schools and the arts, underscoring the importance of creative education in the overall development of students, and helping them balance educational achievements with their dance aspirations.
Additionally, CDCC will film all routines, and the footage will be made available to each school for use in submitting video evidence for student assessments.
